Fine-Tuned Translations
Replexica's context-awareness feature lets you fine-tune translations to match your product's specific language and tone. This is crucial for maintaining consistency and accuracy across your app's user interface and content.
How It Works
- You set the context details once in the dashboard;
- Replexica's AI uses this context for all future translations;
- Your translations come out tailored to your product's voice, style, and terminology.
Setting Up Context
To configure context-awareness:
- Go to replexica.com/app;
- Find the "Fine Tuning" section;
- Customize your product's specific terminology, tone, and style guidelines.
That's it. You only need to do this once, unless you want to change your context later.
Applying Context Changes
When you update your context settings, Replexica will use the new context for all translations going forward. But what about existing translations?
To apply new context to existing content, use the --force
flag:
npx replexica@latest i18n --force
This tells Replexica to ignore the lockfile and retranslate everything with your updated context.
Why Context Matters
Context-awareness isn't just a nice-to-have. It's the difference between generic translations and ones that feel native to your product. Here's why:
- Consistency: It ensures all translations use the same terminology, intent, style;
- Accuracy: Context helps the AI understand nuances specific to your product or industry;
- Brand voice: Your app's personality comes through, even in different languages.
Remember, the goal isn't just to translate, but to make your app feel local in every language. Fine-tuned translations is how Replexica helps you do that.
